I am Masa, a photographer based in Sapporo and Otaru. Alongside pre-wedding and elopement work, I photograph travellers on their Hokkaido trips — couples, families, honeymooners — in short private sessions, in the places they are already visiting.
You book a named photographer, not an assigned stranger. You receive finished, edited photographs — not a folder of raw files. And the session is private: your group only.
Sapporo — the snow city
For many visitors, Sapporo is the base. In winter the city itself is the location: snow-covered parks, the red-brick Former Hokkaido Government Office, and Moerenuma Park’s white fields an easy drive away. A short session fits into a sightseeing day without taking it over.
Otaru — canal light, thirty minutes away
Otaru’s canal and old stone warehouses are at their best in the late afternoon and at dusk, when the lamps come on. In winter, snow and illuminations do most of the work — we simply choose the quieter side of the canal and the right hour.
Niseko & Lake Toya— during your ski trip
Many Niseko sessions begin as an afterthought: you are already here, the snow is extraordinary, and your phone photos are not keeping up. Sessions run in the Niseko area, built around your ski days and the weather — Mt. Yotei in the background when the sky clears.
Furano & Biei — the flower season
In July, Furano’s lavender and Biei’s flower fields are the trip itself. Vacation sessions here are short and early — the fields are at their best, and quietest, before the day-trip crowds arrive.

How a session works
- 45 minutes or 100 minutes, in one area — short sessions stay in one place, so the time goes to photographs, not moving.
- Casual wear — your own travel clothes, as you are.
- Photographed by Masa, in English, booked directly — no agency in between.
- Finished, edited digital photos. (Optional: FUJIFILM GFX medium-format add-on.)
