I am Masa, a Hokkaido elopement photographer
based in Sapporo,
photographing only one couple per day for over 20 years.
Welcome to the ultimate destination wedding experience in Japan. I offer an exclusive, high-end Hokkaido private elopement and luxury pre-wedding photography service designed for sophisticated couples worldwide. Across Asia, couples usually call this a pre-wedding shoot. Here it is the same thing, done properly: one couple, one full day in Hokkaido's nature, photographed as it happens. Guided by a local expert photographer with over 20 years of experience, your lifetime milestone will be captured with the absolute finest aesthetics in Hokkaido's untouched winter snow landscapes and breathtaking summer vistas.
I photograph only one couple per day.
No rush. We take our time. As a local, I know the quiet fields in Biei, Furano and all around Hokkaido, away from the crowds — so it feels like your own winter. There is no fixed course — as a local, I build the day around the light, the season, and the two of you.
Booking starts with a deposit of $500 per shoot day — not full payment in advance. If weather or a cancelled flight makes the shoot impossible, Weather & Flight Protection turns what you have paid into a one-year credit.

FUJIFILM GFX LARGE FORMAT for key portrait:
Those are true Museum-quality fine art. With a sensor 1.7x larger than full-frame, it delivers true three-dimensionality and color depth — essential for Furano lavender, Shakotan blue, and Shikotsu snow. I use it only for the most timeless frames, to preserve your time on location. This is why Lykke Photo Style / KOGARECO is strictly one couple per day, photographed entirely by me.

✦ PLANNING A WINTER ELOPEMENT IN HOKKAIDO ✦
Q: What is the best timing for a snow field elopement?
A: Late January to February offers the most stable, deep powder snow blankets in Biei, Furano, Niseko and Sapporo.
Q: Are location permits required for winter wedding shoots?
A: Yes, public spots like Moerenuma Park or private fields in Biei strictly require advance local permissions. Permit fees are covered up to ¥10,000 ($70) as part of the plan; if a location costs more, the difference is quoted upfront before you book.
Q: How do we handle winter transportation?
A: Driving in winter snow storms is extremely hazardous. Our full-day direct packages include private travel transportation up to 300km to ensure safe relocation between locations.
Q: Can we shoot weddings or portraits with the drifting ice (Ryuhyo)?
A: Yes! February is the peak season to capture the drifting ice along the Shiretoko and Abashiri coasts. However, please note that this is an extreme long-distance expedition requiring a 7-hour drive one-way from Sapporo. For safety and perfect light, this option is strictly handled as a multi-day custom package requiring pre-wedding and post-wedding overnight stays (pre/post-shoot lodging) for the photographer.
